We are seeking a technical architect to lead all technical aspects of the SMART digital infrastructure and its data model to ensure alignment with the business processes and strategic objectives. Responsible for mapping of current and designing the future state of the SMART digital infrastructure from functional, technical, and data perspectives.Michael Page, International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and International Organization for Standardizationlooking for anSolution Architect.IEC and ISO have been working jointly on the development of digital standards through their SMART initiative, aiming to make standards more usable, accessible, and machine-readable. The initial R&D collaboration implemented the foundation for a more modern and digital-first approach to standardization. From this shared vision, the idea emerged to create a common Single Delivery Unit (SDU) to better serve their core audiences – members, partners, and external users – by streamlining delivery, avoiding duplication of systems, and ensuring a consistent user experience.DescriptionEnterprise and data architecture managementLead the development and maintenance of the SMART architecture framework and principles.Define and document the SMART digital infrastructure architecture vision (functional, technical and data perspective), strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with the business strategy and objectives.Conduct architecture reviews and assessments to ensure compliance with the SMART architecture framework and standards.The Smart Architecture to be designed must align with the existing enterprise architectures of both IEC and ISO, supporting their joint transformation towards a digital future. This work will be conducted in close collaboration with, and with the support of, the IT organizations of both entities.Data ManagementDefine and deliver the data strategy roadmap for SMART.Revise, maintain, deliver harmonized ontology management in collaboration with multiple expert groupsA key responsibility of this role is to ensure data protection, particularly with regard to intellectual property. Their effective enforcement must be embedded within the data architecture and flows, which are expected to uphold the compliance requirements defined by IEC and ISO stakeholdersSolution implementationDesign and oversee the implementation of SMART solutions that support the business capabilities compatible with data quality, security, and performance requirements as defined by IEC and ISO.Propose rationalization and optimization plan to deliver current and future business capabilities (scalability) through shared, reuseable and scalable infrastructure approach.Stakeholder EngagementGuide external consulting teams in the implementation of SMART solutions.Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to understand the current and future business capabilities, processes, and needsResearch and evaluate emerging technologies and trends that can enhance the SMART architecture and business capabilitiesProfileQualifications & Experience10+ years in a technical role leading solution design, architecture definition, and roadmap creation.Knowledgeable of IT Enterprise and Data architecture industry standard approachesExperience Cloud hyperscale’s (such as AWS or Azure), graph database solutions, API frameworks, and distributed data stores.Solid working knowledge of relevant digital tools, curious about, able to learn, assimilate and understand the impacts of current and future technologiesStrong knowledge and experience in business capabilities mapping, data modelling, and transformationExperience in artificial intelligence and ontologyStrong knowledge of digital infrastructure design, cloud and software architecture.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in a complex, dynamic environmentPreferred Skills & AttributesAbility to operate effectively in a dual-reporting structure.Passion for driving innovation and digital transformation.Exceptional active listening skills, ability to translate complex ideas into clear messages, and strong presentation and facilitation skillsConflict resolution skills and resilience under pressureAdaptability and flexibility, results-oriented with the ability to find innovative ways to resolve problems, with the ability to work positively with a wide range of individuals at all levels of the organizationEnglish fluent or mother-tongue.This is a unique opportunity to shape and lead a groundbreaking digital initiative at the intersection of technology, strategy, and governance.
