The bilingual (French and English) campus is home to close to 1,900 students across the Primary, Middle and Secondary Schools. Our unique Universal Learning Programme, co-designed with UNESCO’s International Bureau of Education, seeks to anchor learning in deep conceptual understanding and the assessment of Ecolint’s global competences, to ensure that the outcome of learning makes some positive social impact.To complete our team, we are looking for a:Assistant Principal for Academic Operations and Student LifeFull-time – 40 Hour(s)Essential Knowledge and experience in LGB Middle School is requiredResponsibilities

  • In this key leadership position, you will foster a supportive and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and empowered to thrive. Working closely with the Principal, the academic and wellbeing teams, and the students, you will lead initiatives that promote student wellbeing, positive behavior, and a sense of belonging within the school community. You will also oversee and coordinate the Wellbeing Team, ensuring a seamless approach to student support services. Given the overlap between wellbeing and teaching and learning, an interest in and demonstrated ability to manage day to day academic matters is also important.
  • Lead the development and implementation of pastoral care programs to support students’ social, emotional, and mental wellbeing.
  • Oversee student life activities, including extracurricular programs, leadership opportunities, and community engagement.
  • Manage and support the Wellbeing Team, including two psychologists and the Head of Student Services, ensuring high-quality care and coordinated support for students.
  • Collaborate with the Learning Support Team to identify and address individual student needs, ensuring that academic, emotional, and behavioral challenges are holistically supported.
  • Promote positive behavior through clear policies, restorative practices, and proactive support strategies.
  • Collaborate with counselors, teachers, and parents to address individual student needs and ensure a holistic approach to student care.
  • Organize and oversee initiatives that celebrate diversity, inclusion, and intercultural understanding.
  • Serve as a visible and approachable presence for students, fostering trust and open communication.
  • Manage student-related incidents and discipline matters with fairness and empathy.
  • Support transitions and orientation programs to help students integrate successfully into the school.
  • Manage academic processes such as reports, parent meetings and day to day academic concerns with the support of the academic team.

Candidate requirements

  • Proven experience in pastoral care or student welfare roles, ideally in an international or multicultural context.
  • Be dynamic, flexible and committed to promoting the school’s mission
  • A positive, can-do attitude, with a demonstrated ability to lead and implement change.
  • A deep understanding of the social and emotional development of children and preadolescents.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
  • A clear fit with Ecolint’s values of respect, tolerance, inclusion and bilingualism.
  • Fluency in English and French (demonstrated ability to work well in both languages).
  • A demonstrated expertise and/or a master’s degree in a relevant domain is an advantage.
  • Passion for fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.
  • Approachable, empathetic, supportive, collaborative, organized
