Revenues in 2023 were $400bn.For more information: vitol.comJob DescriptionAs a talented python developer, you will help us continue expanding our CTRM platform, fuelled by the rich data generated by our inhouse end-to-end trading system as well as external datasets. We are growing rapidly and are looking for exceptional candidates to help us deliver on our mission. This role will have the opportunity to interface directly with the business, ranging from paper operators to top management to drive our requirements and deliver a wide range of capabilities.As a member of the CTRM team, located in Geneva, Switzerland, you will:Be part of a global development teamTake ownership of a desk driven initiative and re-architecture the application where applicableWrite modular, reusable components to liaise between external sources of data, internal tools and databasesMaintain the cleanliness and centrality of the Vitol Python codebasePort legacy code to Python where appropriateBe able to translate business requirements into a technical delivery following existing patterns where possibleQualifications5+ years of enterprise-level coding experience in PythonExperience building backend application in Python is a mustExperience using a TypeScript framework ideally React.jsDatabase knowledge (Oracle, Postgres, Redis) and SQLStrong understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, SOA architecturesProficient understanding of peer-reviewing, code versioning, and bug/issue tracking tools.Takes great pride in the finished project, with a keen eye for detailExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to drive interactions with project stakeholdersProactive and user-focused, with a can-do attitude and a genuine interest in the functional as well as technical aspects of each challenge encounteredDrives software development best practicesSelf-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing prioritiesExcellent English oral and written skillsAdditional InformationFamiliarity with containerization solutions like DockerPrevious experience in the commodities and/or trading industryUniversity degree (Bachelor or Master) in Computer Science, MIS, or an equivalent fieldFrench language skills an advantage Lire la suite
