Why we are recruiting

The Global Regulatory Innovation Platform (GRIP) is a new initiative launched by the World Economic Forum which is designed to support the evolution of regulatory systems that are more adaptive, inclusive, and fit for purpose in a rapidly changing world. Through this initiative, we aim to better understand the impact of regulation, share practical tools and approaches, and facilitate global collaboration on regulatory innovation.
To deliver this vision, the Forum is recruiting a Lead to drive project execution, strategic partner engagement, and community development for GRIP. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to shaping the future of regulation by connecting forward-thinking stakeholders and supporting practical solutions for more effective governance.

Reporting lines & interactions

The Lead, Global Regulatory Innovation Platform, will be responsible for building and managing the GRIP, including the development of the knowledge products, growing the community and overseeing the knowledge platform. The position reports to the Head of Digital Inclusion. The successful candidate will work internally across multiple Centres and teams, and externally with regulators, CLOs, government leaders, business executives, experts and practitioners from across industries and sectors.
Breakdown of main responsibilities

Project Leadership and Delivery
• Oversee the day-to-day project management and operationalization of GRIP, ensuring alignment with key milestones and deliverables.

• Lead coordination across the five GRIP workstreams, including the Global Regulatory Playbook, Future-Readiness Index, Intelligence Hub, capacity-building efforts, and innovation dialogues.

• Manage and monitor timelines, budgets, and performance indicators in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement
• Build a robust and engaged multistakeholder community who make up core pillars of the regulatory ecosystem

• Cultivate and manage relationships with senior leaders from regulatory agencies, international organizations, governments, and partner companies.

• Organize and facilitate working groups, roundtables, and high-level dialogues.

• Build synergies with relevant Forum communities including Chief Legal Officers, Chief Compliance Officers, and C4IR Centres.

Content and Knowledge Curation
• Keep abreast of key developments in the area of regulation and identify strategic opportunities to inform solutions at global, national and community levels.

• Oversee the development of reports, case studies, knowledge products, and communications related to GRIP activities.

• Coordinate with content specialists and project fellows to ensure high-quality outputs aligned with the initiative’s objectives.

• Contribute to the visibility of GRIP through blogs, media engagement, and thought leadership.

Preferred requirements and experience
• 7–10+ years of experience in regulatory affairs, government relations, law, public policy, or a related field.

• Proven track record in managing complex multi-stakeholder projects or platforms at the global or regional level.

• Master’s or law degree

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.

• Strong project management skills and attention to detail.

• Demonstrated ability to work across different cultures and with senior executives and leaders from private and public sectors

• Excellent verbal and written language skills in English, verbal proficiency in other languages is an asset

• Ability to work in a dynamic and flexible organizational structure

• Willingness to travel up to 20% as needed.

Your responsibilities
DESIGN of Supporting COMPONENTS for XTAX, VXSS (T4) and other beam line equipment in TDC2 and TCC2
In close collaboration with experts at CERN, you will:
• Develop comprehensive and precise engineering models utilising advanced CAD software.
• Conduct structural analyses of beamline equipment and associated lifting equipment, using Finite Element Method (FEM) simulations.
• Design mechanical supports to comply with TDC2 & TCC2 alignment and RP requirements, together with the appropriate tooling required.
• Participating in the reconfiguration studies for raising the H6/H8 beamlines and shifting the P42 line, and renovation/ redesign of all supports in TCC2.
• Oversee the detailed design and document the qualification and acceptance testing of prototypes.
• Prepare and maintain all required conformity documentation.

Your profile
Skills:
• Very good knowledge and experience of CAD tools, preferably CATIA.
• Very good knowledge and experience of FEM tools, preferably ANSYS.
• Highly effective in organisation abilities as well as written and verbal communication.
• Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the basics of the other language.

Eligibility criteria:
• You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State .

Missions principales :

• Contribution aux activités opérationnelles de réponse à incidents (CSIRT) : détection, qualification, investigation, remédiation, gestion de crise et coordination des parties prenantes.
• Participation ponctuelle à des activités de veille sur les menaces émergentes (Threat Intelligence).
• Rédaction de rapports techniques et exécutifs à destination des différentes parties prenantes.
• Contribution à l’amélioration continue des processus et outils de sécurité.

Compétences professionnelles :
• Expérience confirmée en tests d’intrusion (applicatifs, réseaux, systèmes, cloud).
• Solide expérience en investigation d’incidents de sécurité.
• Connaissances en prévention des fuites de données (DLP) appréciées.
• Maîtrise du scripting (Python pour l’automatisation, Bash/PowerShell pour l’analyse de logs).
• Compréhension des comportements malveillants (malware analysis).
• Capacité à analyser des rapports de Threat Intelligence (ex. MITRE ATT&CK).
• Sens aigu de la confidentialité et respect des obligations légales et réglementaires.

Compétences techniques :
• Maîtrise des outils de pentest.
• Connaissance des solutions SIEM et EDR.
• Compétences en analyse de logs et forensic appréciées.
• Bonne compréhension des architectures cloud.
• Familiarité avec les référentiels ISO 27001, NIST et les standards réglementaires

Your responsibilities
The Engineering ( EN ) Department’s Information Management ( IM ) group is looking for a highly motivated full-stack software engineer with great technical skills and a genuine interest in learning new things. You will join a young and international development team inside the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) section, whose mission is to provide engineering information management capabilities for the entire accelerator complex and its detectors. This includes notably the management of millions of engineering documents, product definitions as well as CAD (Computer Aided Design) models.
We are currently in a challenging project of modernizing and simplifying the existing landscape of heterogenous applications and allowing the Organization to move forward towards engineering Digital Twins. In total, over 5000 users depend on the software provided by the group.
In your work, you will for example:
• Implement backend applications using Java or .NET.
• Build web applications using modern technologies (React/Electron/ Typescript).
• Integrate 3D model visualization technologies: web and native viewers, virtual/augmented reality.
• Perform code reviews, testing, delivery and support of the software.
• Carry out data analysis and data migrations.
• Be part of a project delivering engineering Digital Twins of CERN installations.

Your role

Your profile

Qualifications and experience

•    Experience: Minimum 5+ years in investment banking or buy-side roles (asset management, hedge funds, or private equity). Experience in fundamental, long-term orientated investment process is preferred.
•    Education: Graduate degree in finance, business, economics, engineering or related field. Advanced degrees (MBA, CFA, etc.) are a plus but not a requirement.
•    Technical skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel and data management. Experience or interest in data-driven projects and process improvement; familiarity with AI concepts is preferred.
•    Languages: Fluency in English required. Additional languages are a plus.

We are seeking a Trainee (PWM Fund and Manager Research) to explore the evolving landscape of ETFs, with a focus on the risk profiles of active and passive ETFs across different markets. Your role will involve investigating how these products manage market-specific risks such as political instability, currency fluctuations and liquidity constraints. You will develop an innovative quantitative algorithm to screen investment universes, pinpointing critical risk factors that influence ETF performance.

Collaborating with experienced long-only fund analysts, you will analyse historical data to identify patterns and propose strategies for risk management tailored to diverse market conditions. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain predictive insights into manager performance across various investment contexts and time horizons, contributing meaningfully to the advancement of investment strategies.

Your role

• Assess the product suitability of the existing ETF scoring model: Evaluate how well our proprietary algorithm scores ETFs for equities and fixed income, given market shifts over the past decade.
• Identify new risk factors for enhanced ETF analysis: Research and identify additional factors that have strong explanatory power for manager performance, particularly in the context of active and synthetic ETFs.
• Integrate new factors into the scoring algorithm: Modify the existing model to incorporate these new risk factors, improving its relevance and accuracy in today’s investment landscape.
• Analyse risks and opportunities in synthetic passive investments: Explore the specific risks and opportunities associated with synthetic passive ETFs, integrating findings into the updated scoring model to better inform investment strategies.

Your profile

• Master’s student in Finance/Economics, Statistics or Data Science
• A keen interest in financial markets, empirical finance, data analytics and data visualisation
• Proficient in standard IT tools (MS Office, Tableau, SQL, VBA; R, Python is a plus)
• Strong communication skills, ability to work autonomously while being a team player
•  Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, proactive and solution-oriented mindset
• Ability to judge, analyse and work independently
• Perfect command of French and English.

Your responsibilities
The Radiation Protection ( RP ) Group of the Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Protection ( HSE ) Unit ensures that personnel on the CERN sites and the public are protected from potentially harmful effects of ionizing radiation linked to CERN activities. The duties of CERN’s Radiation Protection Group include the assessment of radiation hazards from operating accelerators and experiments, the definition of protective measures as well as the legally required monitoring of the exposure of radiation workers and public to ionising radiation.
You will join the HSE-RP-AS (Accelerator & Site) section who is in charge of all radiation protection aspects related to the design and operation of accelerators and experimental areas at CERN. This role would primarily be based at the Prévessin Site .
Your operational responsibilities will include:
• Support the team activities by performing radiation survey measurements.
• Take part in the ALARA preparation and follow-up of activities in Radiation Areas.
• Conduct measurements and radiation protection follow-up in preparation and during the Long-Shutdown 3.

Additional Information

• A contract of association from 4 to 12 months.

• An allowance of 3452 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax).

• A travel allowance.

Your responsibilities
Join the ATLAS Central Detector Control System (DCS) team to help develop robust online control and monitoring software for one of the world’s most advanced scientific experiments.
You will work with hardware and sub-detector teams to integrate diverse technologies into a cohesive “slow control” infrastructure and contribute to major HL-LHC upgrade efforts. You will also participate in commissioning new underground installations, ensure operational continuity through on-call duties, and support ATLAS and HL-LHC runs.
Key responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain OPC UA servers and SCADA control software for online data exchange.
• Integrate communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I²C, Modbus) into a unified control framework.
• Optimise C++ software on Linux using DevOps tools (Git, CMake, CI/CD).
• Support system commissioning, troubleshooting, and on-call operations for ATLAS and HL-LHC upgrades.

Your profile
Skills:
• Strong proficiency in modern C++ (C++11 and later), with solid understanding of memory management, concurrency, and design patterns.
• Proven experience developing, debugging, and optimising distributed or “online” control software on Linux.
• Familiarity with common C++ development tools and workflows, including Git, CMake, and continuous integration.
• Basic understanding of hardware-software integration in industrial or scientific environments.
• Practical knowledge of OPC UA SDKs and SCADA platforms (WinCC OA preferred) would be an asset.
• Effective problem-solving and communication skills within large, international teams.

Internship –Business Analyst in Interest Rate Risk and ALM Implementation – (6 months)

As a Business Analyst Intern, you will  integrate the Regulatory Reporting and Risk Management development team within the Technology and Operations Unit based in Geneva. You will actively participate in the implementation of interest rate risk software for our BPO and the deployment of ALM solution for the Bank. This internship is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the banking sector and gain valuable experience in risk management and data analysis.

YOUR ROLE
• Contribute to the implementation of a software solution designed for the IRRBB Swiss reporting, including participation in the testing, deployment , and integration processes

• Assist in the implementation of ALM strategies in the software by contributing to stress testing scenarios, cash flow modeling, and sensitivity analysis of interest rates

• Work closely with risk and finance teams to ensure consistency and compliance in the processes implemented.

• Help with drafting procedures and documenting processes related to interest rate risk management, software implementation, and ALM.

YOUR PROFILE
• Graduated or you are currently pursuing a Master’s degree in finance, risk management, economics, financial engineering, or related field.

• Strong ability to analyse and interpret complex financial data, with excellent proficiency in Excel. Knowledge of risk management tools, financial modeling, and software implementation is a plus.

• Understanding of interest rate risk , ALM concepts, and banking financial products is preferred.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

• Proficiency in French and Fluent in English.

• Resident in Switzerland or willing to relocate to Switzerland.
