Our People Advisory Services Tax business is focused on People Management – our vision is to help our clients get it right in all its facets.. In Mobility, we help our clients manage the complex compliance, reporting and risks inherent in deploying a globally mobile workforce. As part of the global team, this group benefits from strategic investment in a number of its businesses and forecasts significant growth in the short to medium term.
You will contribute to and lead special advisory projects (e.g., business traveler, equity-based compensation advice, mobility technology, etc.) while ensuring technical excellence and a practical/business driven approach is taken. Work location would be Geneva or Lausanne but with our hybrid working model, it is possible to work remote (from home or from another EY office in Switzerland).

Your key responsibilities

• Collaborate with global teams on international projects and consulting assignments, focusing on core tax areas such as individual and corporate tax, tax planning, tax compliance, and tax administration and work closely with colleagues from different countries
• Focus on providing tax support to a wide range of businesses, from SMEs to multinational corporations, across all operational domestic and international tax areas
• Engage in interpreting, implementing, applying, controlling, and reviewing tax and regulatory concepts, gaining a thorough understanding of their practical use
• Assist clients with tax analyses, preparation of tax compliance filings and tax rulings, and contribute to corporate structuring and rationalization projects
• Develop solutions in a complex, international environment, and offer guidance and support to managers on core tax issues
• Engage in daily interactions with human resources departments, tax and social security specialists, expatriates, and authorities

• A recognized diploma or ongoing higher education in Law, Economics, or equivalent (federal, bachelor’s or master’s degree)
• A strong interest in core taxation concepts or relevant coursework in your academic studies; a first (internship) experience in this field is considered as a plus
• Excellent command of both French and English

Your tasks:
• Provide solid administrative support for the Corporate Risk Management activities
• Support the application and continuous improvement of the corporate risk management framework (based on ISO 31000)

What we are looking for:
• Degree in Risk Management, Engineering, or a related field
• Initial experience in risk management, audit, compliance, or similar roles
• Sound understanding of ISO 31000 risk principles (training or certification is an asset)
• Problem solving: You seek accurate information to analyse problems, break down complex issues into manageable parts, and approach solutions in a systematic and structured way
• Communication: You adapt your communication style to the context and stakeholders and actively ask for information through relevant questions and active listening

Job Description

Your responsibilities
At CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research), we push the boundaries of science and technology to explore the universe’s deepest mysteries. The LHCb (Large Hadron Collider beauty) experiment depends on cutting-edge Data Acquisition and Synchronization systems to manage massive experimental datasets. It will undergo a second major upgrade during Long Shutdown 4 (2034-2035) to increase its physics yield by a factor of 100 over the original LHCb. The LHCb Online Team is currently assessing solutions for the central Timing and Fast Control (TFC) system, responsible for readout control, timing distribution, and global synchronization.
We are looking for an Applied Physicist / Systems Engineer, with broad competences in Data Acquisition, Readout technologies, timing reception and distribution, networking, FPGAs, Hardware Design Languages, operations and commissioning of large physics experiments to take the lead in shaping the future TFC system for the LHCb Upgrade II. The short-term goal (2027-2028) is to finalize the technical specifications of the TFC system and validate a proto-architecture using real hardware. The aim is to reach <10ps timing distribution precision using dedicated custom hardware while taking part of a broader R&D program at CERN and LHCb.
Key responsibilities:
• Model, design and define the specifications of the Upgraded LHCb TFC system.
• Drive an R&D study to evaluate technological backbones using real hardware.
• Write firmware for the central FPGA logic as a result of devising operational scenarios and requirements from the upgraded LHCb detector.
• Implement first hardware testbenches, including testing, commissioning and early optimisations.
• Support sub-detectors lab test-benches, including operation and maintenance of dedicated TFC devices.

Your profile
Skills:
• Proficiency in Hardware Description Languages (VHDL and/or Verilog).
• Proven design experience across diverse FPGA platforms and toolchains, and high-level synthesis technologies (Intel OneAPI and/or Vivado HLS).
• Knowledge of analysis and optimisation of detector component, with particular attention to timing requirements.
• Knowledge of detector operation, commissioning and testing, with particular attention to timing reception and distribution techniques.
• Knowledge of embedded DAQ Protocols, with particular attention to fixed latency distribution systems.
• Basic knowledge of PCB design, including design qualification/testing, would be an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of formal Verification of digital logic (Opensource sw, e.g. SymbiYosys) would be an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of HPC networking for data acquisition would be an advantage.
• Proven capability to drive specifications and define guidelines, including writing documentation and oral communication.
• Proven ability to work independently as well as in teams.
• Proven ability to identify and select emerging and fitting technologies.
• Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the basics of the other language.

Eligibility criteria:
• You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
• You have a professional background in Applied Physics (or a related field) and have either: • a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
• or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.

• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.

Additional Information

Job closing date: 08.07.2025 at 23:59 CEST.
Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
Working hours: 40 hours per week

On a daily basis, you will • Help customers integrate our solutions across their development pipeline. • Drive technical issues to resolution: from the qualification of customer concerns to conducting an in-depth technical investigation and managing customer relationships all along the way.

Your team

Corporate Functions includes the Pictet Group’s non-banking activities and employs more than 600 people. These functions are carried out by specialists with expertise across all business units, and include the Communications, Compliance, Finance, Human Resources, Information Security, Internal Audit, Legal, Organisation & Digital, Risk and Tax departments.

The Human Resources department works to ensure that the organisation fosters an environment in which employees can thrive and are motivated to contribute to the company’s success.

Your role

Reporting to the Head of HR Service Delivery, you will be responsible for consolidating and overseeing payroll processes across the Pictet Group’s global entities, ensuring compliance, accuracy and harmonisation of payroll data. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the following tasks:

– enhancing the internal payroll control system by designing a control framework to improve Group HR’s oversight of all payroll activities globally, ensuring robust payroll and accounting processes and data integrity across all Pictet entities.
– working with the Head of HR Service Delivery to develop and implement standardised payroll wage-types and procedures across the Group to ensure consistency and compliance. Maintaining the mapping of wage-types to financial accounts.
– conducting, with the local payroll managers, monthly reconciliations between payroll data, accounting records and bank accounts to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
– ensuring the global payroll consolidation file is correct and accurate by performing high level plausibility checks.
– taking over specific activities from local payroll managers in order to mitigate the risk of fraud (e.g. instructing local payroll providers, pre-checking the bank payment file).
– ensuring regular and direct communication with local payroll managers to ensure alignment and address any issues promptly.
– acting as the primary point of contact for the Finance department for payroll data queries and issues in the Group’s branches. Being the point of contact for payroll accounting issues during external/internal audits.

Your profile

– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent.
– At least 10 years’ experience in payroll management and accounting practices, in a multinational environment.
– Excellent command of English and French.
– Strong analytical skills with regard to controls, checks and balances and numerical reporting.
– Outstanding knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, complex formulas) and SAP HR/PY, in order to perform complex and systematic controls, generate multi-location/multi-dimensional reports.
– Attention to detail, systematic and rigorous approach to your work.
– Strong problem solving skills and a proactive and analytical mindset.
– Ability to identify areas for process improvement and implement effective solutions.
– Show absolute discretion with regard to payroll and employee information to ensure confidentiality.
– Ability to manage stakeholders based across multiple locations and levels of seniority. Be sensitive to cultural differences with the ability to adapt quickly in order to accommodate them.

Your role

Technology Strategy

• Shaping a holistic technology strategy for the Pictet Group and defining key objectives for 2030, working closely with the Pictet Tech executive committee, their teams and business stakeholders.

• Ensuring progress towards these objectives is monitored and reporting up to senior executives.

• Driving the preparation, agenda and content for the annual Tech Deep-Dive, the purpose of which is to  ensure the Group’s top executives are aware of the latest technology trends and their implications for Pictet.

Product Management for Crypto-Asset Initiatives

• Defining and driving Pictet’s strategy on crypto-assets, covering crypto-asset custody, trading and asset tokenisation.

• Continuously monitoring market trends, emerging solutions and the competitive landscape.

• Driving key initiatives underpinning the overarching strategy, starting with the successful implementation of a crypto-asset custody and trading solution.

• Working with internal stakeholders from Compliance, Legal, Risk and Infrastructure to the Business to ensure that the solution meets our clients’ needs, as well as all of Pictet’s internal requirements.

• Defining a product roadmap with the business that captures early feedback from clients and the evolving nature of the space.

• Working closely with Pictet Asset Management (PAM) to define and implement the next tokenisation initiatives that could be differentiators for Pictet.

Your profile

• Master’s degree, or qualification deemed equivalent.

• Solid professional experience, including at least three years’ experience with a major consulting firm and/or corporate strategy group.

• Experience working in the field of digital technology.
