This comprises 600 m2 of silicon detectors and 300 m2 of plastic scintillators, covering five orders of magnitude in radiation tolerance, to provide precise measurements of energy, position, and timing.The CERN team has a deep implication in HGCAL, including responsibilities in the mechanics, technical coordination, and electronics (front-end and off-detector). The LHCb (Large Hadron Collider beauty) experiment depends on cutting-edge Data Acquisition and Synchronization systems to manage massive experimental datasets. It will undergo a second major upgrade during Long Shutdown 4 (2034-2035) to increase its physics yield by a factor of 100 over the original LHCb. The LHCb Online Team is currently assessing solutions for the central Timing and Fast Control (TFC) system, responsible for readout control, timing distribution, and global synchronization.We are looking for an Applied Physicist / Systems Engineer, with broad competences in Data Acquisition, Readout technologies, timing reception and distribution, networking, FPGAs, Hardware Design Languages, operations and commissioning of large physics experiments to take the lead in shaping the future TFC system for the LHCb Upgrade II. The short-term goal (2027-2028) is to finalize the technical specifications of the TFC system and validate a proto-architecture using real hardware. This includes maintaining our internal applications and developing new applications that will help us support the growth of the business.nWhat You Will Do Daily:Collaborate with diverse teams to develop solutions that enhance development operations.Promote best practices using Atlassian tools with Engineering Managers’ support.Upgrade and maintain Atlassian tools.Manage Identity and Access Management, including user setup and permissions.Train end-users on the effective use of Atlassian tools.Implement security controls to protect environments.Monitor Atlassian applications, review logs, create documentation, address performance, and adopt new features.Optimize Atlassian workflows and assess functionality for user requests.Maintain the Atlassian suite, including plug-ins, and plan product growth.Create and implement standard templates and workflows, with customization as needed.Manage change processes and communication.Document configurations, processes, guides, and known issues.Identify process improvement opportunities.Collaborate with IT Operations to resolve issues promptly.The Experience You Will Need:4+ years of experience managing and configuring Jira Cloud in multiple project environments.Proven knowledge and experience in managing further Atlassian Cloud products (Confluence, Jira Service Management, Trello, Atlas, Compass, etc.)Familiarity with Agile Framework and Kanban development frameworks and project management methodologiesProficient in troubleshooting and diagnosing complex technical issues.Demonstrated experience in supporting technical users and conducting requirements analysis.Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skillsHighly autonomous and pragmaticOpen-minded and very positive can-do attitudePrefer to work in a team, share information, and ideas and understand the power of collective thinking to get the best solutionsComfortable in dealing with change and complexitySelf-confident enough to challenge the status quo as well as to receive and give feedback to improve the team and yourselfLeadership: Taking the initiative and demonstrating your ability to lead a subject from beginning to endValuing “done” over “perfect”Why You Will Love It Here:Our culture and mission set us apart.
