At CERN’s Fire and Rescue Service, you’ll work in a dynamic, high-tech industrial setting while collaborating with firefighting professionals from 15 different countries. Firefighters at CERN operate on a 12-hour shift system and are on call 24/7. In addition to emergency response duties, they engage in regular training and maintenance activities, ensuring optimal operational capacity and fire safety. Maintenance primarily focuses on fire extinguishers and hose reels, with most tasks performed during the week.
CERN’s Fire and Rescue Service collaborates closely with emergency services from both France and Switzerland, conducting joint interventions and training exercises whenever possible.
Functions
After completing an initial 10-week on-the-job training program tailored to CERN’s environment, you will join your assigned team and take on the following responsibilities:
• Emergency response: perform firefighting, medical emergency response, and rescue operations.
• Safety Control Room operations: monitor and manage emergency dispatch activities.
• Technical inspections & patrols: conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with fire regulations.
• Specialized assistance: provide support in confined space operations, hazardous material handling, and transport missions involving special risks.
• Training & exercises: participate in regular drills and continuous professional development in line with the Fire and Rescue Service’s training plan.
• Fire prevention & awareness: engage in fire safety initiatives, training sessions, and collaborative safety projects.
• Equipment maintenance: ensure the upkeep of firefighting and medical emergency equipment, including fire extinguishers and hydrants.
• Project participation: contribute to ongoing projects within the Fire and Rescue Service.
• Administrative & operational support: assist with necessary administrative duties and team-wide responsibilities.
• Physical training: participate in both individual and group fitness programs.

Qualifications

You have the diplomas and/or certificates that bring proof of you being educated and trained as a firefighter. These diplomas and certificates are issued by a public body or a private body acting under the delegation of a public service.
Experience:
You currently work, and have demonstrated experience, as a professional firefighter in a public or company fire service. Experience in control room or ambulance settings would be an advantage.
Technical competencies:
• Emergency first response: firefighting, rescue operations, and emergency medical care.
• Hazardous materials response operations: response operations for hazardous material incidents.
• Teaching and training: providing training to fellow firefighters and the general public.
• Fire safety inspections: conducting technical assessments and compliance checks.
• Firefighting operations: interior firefighting and fire engine operation.

Behavioural competencies:
• Demonstrating Flexibility: demonstrating a willingness to accept changing circumstances; supporting initiatives for change being able to deal with ambiguous or unpredictable situations; adapting quickly and resourcefully to shifting priorities and requirements.

Language skills:

Les missions principales du poste sont :

• Exécuter des activités de recherche sur la pharmacocinétique, la pharmacodynamie et le dosage de précision des médicaments utilisés dans la greffe de cellules souches hématopoïétiques de l’enfant. Ces activités de recherche sont notamment liées aux projets suivants :

• • Thérapies et dosages personnalisés guidés par modèles en oncologie et hématologie pédiatrique (ex : Busulfan, Fludarabine, Treosulfan, Cyclosporine, Cisplatine, etc.).

• • Etudes cliniques sur la pharmacogénétique, pharmacocinétique et la pharmacodynamie des agents cytotoxiques en oncologie pédiatrique (ALL SCTPed FORUM, Myechild, BuGenes 01, FLUPK 01, etc.).

• Participer à des projets de recherches complexes ayant un impact translationnel, contribuant à l’élaboration de documents de recherche en vue de leur publication et/ou à la préparation de rapports techniques, de documents et/ou de dossiers.
• Participer à l’enseignement et à la formation pratique des stagiaires/ étudiant-es.
• Préparer des dossiers, rapports scientifiques, demande de fonds ou des projets demandés par le/la supérieur-e hiérarchique.
• Participer et présenter aux différents colloques, séminaires, réunions de travail et conférences internes et externes.
• Actualiser et approfondir ses connaisances et compétences professionnelles dans le but de développer l’expertise et la maîtrise nécessaires.

Titre et compétences exigés
• Doctorat ou titre jugé équivalent en pharmacologie ou pharmacie avec expertise en PBPK / POPPK modeling et simulation.
• Expérience en recherche et développement en pharmacologie clinique, pharmacocinétique et pharmacodynamie et suivi thérapeutique médicamenteux.
• Expérience dans le traitement de données provenant d’études pharmacogénomiques.
• Expérience en méthodologie statistique, excellente connaissance de la bioinformatique.
• Expérience utile au poste de 3-5 ans minimum.
• Excellente maîtrise des outils informatiques usuels (Microsoft Office, Adobe) et spécifiques (tels que SPSS, R, Phoenix suite, NONMEM, Monolix suite, Graphpad Prism, AutoDock tools, AutoDock Vina, GROMACS, WinNonline, Simcyp, Tucuxi, etc.).
• Publication d’au moins 10 manuscrits examinés par des pairs.
• Capacité à travailler de manière autonome et en équipe.

The mission of the CANSEARCH research platform in pediatric oncology and hematology at the University of Geneva is to develop research in pediatric oncology and hematology, mainly in the field of individualized therapy (personalized medicine) in pediatric oncology and hematology.

To complete the CANSEARCH research platform team, the Faculty of Medicine is looking for a

Post-Doctorate at 100%
The main tasks of the position are :

• Carry out research into the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and precision dosing of drugs used in pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. These research activities are linked in particular to the following projects:

• • Model-guided personalized therapies and dosages in pediatric oncology and hematology (e.g. Busulfan, Fludarabine, Treosulfan, Cyclosporine, Cisplatin, etc.).

• PhD or equivalent degree in pharmacology or pharmacy with expertise in PBPK / POPPK modeling and simulation.
• Research and development experience in clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics and drug therapy monitoring.
• Experience in processing data from pharmacogenomic studies.
• Experience in statistical methodology, excellent knowledge of bioinformatics.
• At least 3-5 years’ relevant experience.
• Excellent command of standard computer tools (Microsoft Office, Adobe) and specific tools (such as SPSS, R, Phoenix suite, NONMEM, Monolix suite, Graphpad Prism, AutoDock tools, AutoDock Vina, GROMACS, WinNonline, Simcyp, Tucuxi, etc.).
• Publication of at least 10 peer-reviewed manuscripts.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Respect for deadlines and professional rigor required.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Desirable qualifications:

Introduction
Experimental Physicist
You will be part of the Experimental Physics (EP) Department, which carries out basic research. This Department aims at providing a stimulating scientific atmosphere and remains an important reference centre for the European physics community.

Functions
The selected candidate will play an important role in one or more projects of particle physics experiments at CERN, involving the conception and design of experiments, the development and operation of detectors and the analysis of data.

Qualifications

PhD or equivalent relevant experience in the field of PhD in the field of physics, or equivalent or a related field.
Experience:
• This vacancy notice is addressed to experimental physicists towards the beginning of their careers, but who have already demonstrated some years of post-doctoral experience in the field of particle physics.
• Experience in data analysis, in the use of on-line or off-line software and competence in detector hardware.

Technical competencies:
• Knowledge and application of electromagnetic radiation propagation and interaction with matter.
• Physics analysis.
• Experimental particle physics.
• Particle detectors and interaction of particles with matter.

Behavioural competencies:

Job Description

Take part in CERN’s Technical Student Programme!
If your university or institute requires or encourages you to acquire work experience through an internship, imagine doing this at CERN in Geneva. It’s more than work experience. In fact, it’s a student programme like nowhere else on Earth and an impressive addition to your CV!
If you are a student looking to complete practical training in domains related to Applied Physics, you will have the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of technology, contribute and broaden your knowledge in disciplines as varied as particle detector physics and their applications, analysis and simulation, data processing, radiation studies, beam instrumentation, optics, lasers, cryogenics, vacuum or thermodynamics to name a few.
Please note that students specialising in theoretical or experimental particle physics are not eligible to apply for this programme.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for a place on the programme you will need to meet the following requirements:
• You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State .

• You have completed at least 18 months/3 semesters of your undergraduate studies at the time of the next student selection round taking place in November 2025.

• You remain registered as a full-time student during the internship.

• You have a good knowledge of English or French.

Additional Information

CERN would very much like to benefit from your expertise, commitment and passion. In return, CERN will provide you with:
• A contract of association from 4 to 12 months.

• An allowance of 3472 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax).

• A travel allowance.

• Depending on your personal circumstances, a supplement if you are married and/or have children.

Internship – Developer AI in detection of new transaction patterns in Tax Reporting – ( 6 months)

You will integrate the Tax reporting development team within the Technology and Operations Unit based in Geneva. The members of this team provide our Operational teams with products producing Tax reports for the clients of the Bank. The goal of this internship is to use AI models to detect new financial transaction patterns sourced from the front office in order to assess the accuracy of their fiscal treatment. This control would replace the manual analysis done by our data engineer once a year.

YOUR ROLE
• To acquire a good understanding of the bank requirements in terms of tax reporting and the current pain points in term of quality control that the team and its users are experiencing.

• To experiment with artificial intelligence (AI) models to select the most appropriate one and to integrate it within the existing process which is sourcing the financial transactions.

• Follow Agile(Scrum) methodology.

YOUR PROFILE
• Graduated (or currently pursuing a degree) in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field.

• Proficiency in commonly used libraries for AI and Machine Learning.

• Knowledge of Java and SQL.

• Data Analysis, ability to extract actionable insights and passionate about making things better.

Your mission:
Leveraging your expertise in Active Directory, you will manage, secure, maintain, and enhance our diverse AD environments as part of a collaborative and agile team. To enable you to carry out this task independently and competently, you will be trained as an Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP) as part of a two-year induction and training programme. Your tasks:
• Manage and secure on-premises Active Directory environments, including OU structure, GPOs, and user and computer provisioning with a focus on security best practices
• Harden and monitor AD infrastructure, enforce least privilege access, respond to security events, and collaborate with cybersecurity teams on SIEM and IAM integrations
• Support AD lifecycle operations, including audits, upgrades, migrations, and documentation of architecture and configurations

What we are looking for:
• At least 5 years’ experience as System Administrator or System Engineer

A Swiss-based foundation is seeking a highly organized and proactive Team Assistant to support its operations on a part-time basis (50%) for a fixed term of four months. • Provide administrative and logistical support to the team, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and managing correspondence.
• Assist in organizing events, workshops, and internal communications.
• Support travel arrangements and expense reporting.
• Maintain filing systems and ensure smooth day-to-day office operations.

Profile
• Proven experience in an administrative or assistant role, ideally in an international or non-profit setting.
• Excellent command of both English and French.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools.
• Discreet, reliable, and service-oriented.
