Introduction
Are you a Computing Engineer with a passion for challenging projects in the field of particle physics experiments? Do you have experience in designing, developing, and operating distributed computing systems in a large scientific programme or in an industrial environment? Then seize the opportunity and join the LHCb Team in CERN’s Experimental Physics Department. You will become a core software engineer for the design, development, maintenance, and operations of the experiment’s distributed workload and data management ecosystem. Handling millions of jobs, and billions of files, you will contribute to the world’s largest open science data infrastructure.
You will join:

• The Experimental Physics (EP) Department, which carries out basic research in the field of experimental particle physics in a stimulating scientific atmosphere, standing as an important reference for the European physics community; it also contributes to the education and training of young scientists.

• The LHCb Computing group (LBC), which has major responsibilities in the development, operation, maintenance, and future upgrades of LHCb Software & Computing systems.

Functions
You will:

• Take a leading role in the development, operation, maintenance, and future upgrades of the Dirac interware for the needs of the LHCb Experiment; this includes a wide variety of software engineering tasks to ensure readiness of the system for the needs of LHCb U2, and development of features specifically required for LHCb Distributed Computing.

• Contribute to all aspects of the central operation of the LHCb Experiment’s distributed computing system.

• Engage with the workflow management efforts of the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG) and drive their evolution towards the needs of LHCb.

• Contribute to the evolution of the Dirac open-source community activity.

• Help with LHCb Core Software tasks like the modernisation of the LHCb software deployment model.

Qualifications
PhD or equivalent relevant experience in the field of computing engineering or a related field.
Experience:

• Proven experience in the design, development and operation of large-scale distributed systems for scientific experiments;

• Demonstrated experience with the Python programming language and SQL-based databases, especially for systems with large request volumes and high interaction rates;

• Demonstrated experience with Web Development Frameworks;

• Experience in utilising and managing High Performance Computing (HPC) systems;

• Experience using modern development processes for distributed teams, such as iterative development, code review, and CI/CD;

• Experience of common WLCG frameworks and systems, such as HTCondorCE, ARC would be an advantage.

Technical competencies:

• Architecture and design of ICT systems: in particular in the context of data life cycle management;

• Installation, operation and maintenance (preventive and corrective) of computing systems;

• Knowledge of system configuration tools: in the context of large-scale distributed computing systems such as Kubernetes & GitOps-based system deployments;

As an Experienced Welding Engineer in CERN’s Engineering Department, you will have the opportunity to get involved in the whole lifecycle of mechanical fabrication of complex components for CERN’s particle accelerators. You will play a key role in developing and supervising advanced assembly and welding procedures for the fabrication of technically demanding components such as pressure vessels, cryogenic systems, ultra-high vacuum chambers, and radiofrequency structures. A particular focus of this position will be the fabrication and installation of low-temperature high-pressure lines.

Functions
As an Experienced Welding Engineer in the Forming & Welding Section, you will:

• Manage a team of highly skilled technicians and engineers in metal forming and welding.

• Develop and supervise advanced assembly and welding procedures for the fabrication of technically complex components, including pressure vessels, cryogenic systems, ultra-high vacuum chambers, and radiofrequency structures used in CERN’s accelerators and experiments.

• Be responsible for delivering welding development projects on time and within budget.

• Work closely with the QA/QC project team during manufacturing and production testing phases.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in welding stainless steel and nonferrous metals, including aluminium alloys and copper.

Your responsibilities
The BE-CEM-MTA team has developed a software framework, called RADE , using LabVIEW that facilitates the development of measurement and analysis applications. These tools can increase the efficiency of target production and development and help the operators and users to tune ion source and the machine.
You will join the RILIS support and help improve the framework. The task consists of a set of developments, that should integrate into the existing control infrastructure, using MTA tools. This is a great opportunity to learn from close collaboration with Physicists and Laser Experts, understanding the basics of the accelerator control.
Specifically, you will:

• Use LabVIEW on Windows and/or Linux depending on the environment.

• Develop a monitoring and control systems using LabVIEW Real-Time and FPGA.

• Be involved in development, installation, and maintenance of applications in facilities such as RILIS and photoemission lab.

• Work in the RADE development team and learn the BE-CEM-MTA working standards.

• Study how CERN beam lines are working.

• Implement dedicated tools according to internal client requirements and CEM guidelines.

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join the Tech & Cyber Risk Management unit of the Pictet Tech division in Geneva. Our Cybersecurity Engineering team focuses on safeguarding digital assets through detection engineering, incident response and automation. You’ll enable the team through robust engineering practices and contribute to operational and engineering activities that enhance our cyber capabilities.

Your role

• Manage and maintain cybersecurity infrastructure, including solutions such as Puppet, to ensure operational efficiency and scalability.

• Develop and test use cases to validate the effectiveness and reliability of cybersecurity tools and processes.

• Define and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cybersecurity operations and engineering workflows.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

• An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in one of the following fields: public and/or private sector partnerships, communications, social sciences, communication, public relations, business administration and management. *A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.

• A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in partnerships/project management, corporate fundraising, shared value partnerships and a track record of organizing and managing partnerships, especially between the technology sector and development/non-profit organizations.

• Knowledge of the telecommunication’s regulatory ecosystem, its actors, interactions between stakeholders, processes and trends is a plus

• Exposure to fundraising and partnerships management in UNICEF is a plus

Travel:

Maître assistant-e à 100%
La personne engagée devra être motivée et capable de mener des projets de manière indépendante.

Elle/Il devra contribuer à un programme de recherche sur la génétique et la génomique des maladies courantes, en particulier celles liées au diabète, à l’obésité et aux maladies métaboliques. Ce rôle de recherche comprendra le codéveloppement de projets, l’analyse de données, y compris une vaste expérience de travail dans des environnements de recherche fiables basés sur le cloud avec des données à grande échelle, la collaboration étroite avec des scientifiques de base et des cliniciens scientifiques, la présentation d’exposés et la rédaction de rapports et d’articles pour diffuser votre travail.

Elle/Il devra contribuer à l’approche de l’équipe en matière d’excellente gestion des données. Il s’agira notamment de veiller à ce que les flux de travail d’analyse des données soient interopérables, y compris ceux des plateformes basées sur le cloud et des clusters à haute performance.

• Le/la candidat(e) sélectionné(e) doit être titulaire d’un doctorat en recherche en génétique humaine. Ce doctorat de recherche exige des compétences approfondies en informatique et en statistique. Le/la candidat(e) doit avoir les publications scientifiques dans ce domaine spécifique.

• Au moins une année d’expérience dans un poste de post-doctorant travaillant avec des données de génotypage et de phénotypage humain à grande échelle.

• Expérience de travail avec des données médicales humaines y compris les dossiers médicaux électroniques dans des environnements du cloud tels que DNA Nexus.

• Un dossier de publication incluant la publication de vos propres méthodes de statistiques.

• Au moins 5 ans expérience en informatique dans un contexte biomédical, y compris R, python, linux.

• Très bonnes connaissances (parlées et écrites) de l’anglais, langue de travail de l’équipe de recherche.

Vous gérez les services cloud au quotidien (run), tout en participant à l’amélioration continue des opérations.

Vous configurez et supervisez Intune ainsi qu’Active Directory pour garantir un environnement moderne et sécurisé.

•
Vous appliquez les bonnes pratiques de gouvernance Microsoft et veillez à la cohérence globale de l’environnement M365.

•
Vous assurez un support technique de proximité auprès des utilisateurs de la filiale, jusqu’au client final.

•
Vous travaillez en coordination avec les équipes centrales pour assurer une transition fluide et documentée.

Votre Profil :

•
Vous êtes diplômé(e) en informatique (niveau ingénieur ou équivalent).

•
Vous justifiez d’une expérience significative (2 à 5 ans) en tant qu’Administrateur/Architecte Azure.

•
Vous maîtrisez les environnements Microsoft Azure, Intune, Active Directory, et Microsoft 365.

•
Vous savez gérer des environnements hybrides, en mode projet comme en support.

•
Vous êtes autonome, rigoureux(se), orienté(e) solution et avez une bonne communication.

•
Vous parlez couramment français. L’anglais est un plus.
