The Junior Product Technical Support Engineer (m/f/d) provides technical expertise for Metso stirred mill technologies with a strong focus on operational support and performance improvement at customer sites worldwide. The role combines customer-facing technical support, operational data analysis, and collaboration with engineering teams to improve reliability, availability, and product performance of installed equipment.
The position is available in Baden (CH), Espoo (FN), York (USA), or Perth (AU), with Baden being the preferred location.
What you’ll do
Technical Support & Customer Interface

Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders regarding the operation, performance and maintenance of stirred mill equipment.

Support plant operations through troubleshooting and technical assessments, working with senior engineers to identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and availability.

Participate in site visits to investigate technical issues, support commissioning activities and identify improvement opportunities.
Technical Analysis & Continuous Improvement

Analyse operational and process data to support performance assessments and identify potential optimisation opportunities.

Conduct technical studies, root cause investigations and preliminary risk assessments related to equipment performance or failures.

Develop and recommend technical solutions in collaboration with product engineering, service teams and suppliers.
Product & Engineering Collaboration

Support engineering and product development teams with field feedback and operational insights from installed equipment.

Contribute to continuous product improvement initiatives and internal technical projects.

Maintain technical documentation and product data within the PLM environment throughout the product lifecycle.
Who you are

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechatronics or a comparable technical discipline.

First professional experience, internships or student projects in mining, minerals processing, cement or heavy industry are an advantage.

Solid technical understanding of industrial equipment and mechanical systems.

Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work with operational and process data.

Structured, solution oriented approach and strong problem solving skills.

Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with international customers and cross?functional teams.

Confident use of MS Office, particularly Excel; exposure to engineering tools or PLM systems is a plus.

Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage. Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 20%).
